FreeScore.com Product Launch
About This Project
The Brief
Launch a marketing campaign for Vertrue’s flagship security product, FreeScore.com. FreeScore.com is a membership-based website that allows customers to access all three of their credit scores from the 3 major bureaus. Other features include access to insurance scores, fraud services, and email alerts. The company hired Ben Stein to be FreeScore.com’s spokesperson alongside a CGI squirrel.
The Solution
FreeScore.com’s main positioning statement was “Life Costs More Without FreeScore.” We wanted to drive home the idea that a consumer should stay on top of their credit scores on a regular basis and take precautions against getting their identity stolen. Although you could get your credit scores for free, the real value to the customer was all the other benefits that come along with being a FreeScore member, including instant alerts and fraud prevention. Hiring the actor/economist, Ben Stein, allowed us to take a humorous approach to the creative while also having the backing of an industry expert. I was lead designer tasked with establishing the brand identity of FreeScore.com, the UI design of the membership website, online and print advertising and additional marketing collateral.
Target Audience
Broad variety of demographics; anyone looking to learn their credit scores from the 3 bureaus or looking for more credit information.
